On the 22nd of June I'm trying to bring in a team of people to complete the Yorkshire three peaks challenge which is 25 miles over 3 mountains so its going to be a hard challenge

The Leeds General Infirmary have these difficult challenges every day on the Children's Heart Unit, they save lives and provide our children a future, I know first hand how they care and dedicate their life to this cause, this amazing team of people saved my child Oliver Vaines who is the little fella in the photo, its the most painful and anxious time for any parent, our surgeon Mr Jabba operated for more than 8 hours on Oliver's little heart which was the size of a plumb, although he will require monitoring throughout his life we are so fortunate to have him home and doing well.

Many children are in hospital for months at a time requiring multiple life threatening operations, unfortunatley some of these children will never make it through the night, it's so painful to see the faces of these tiny baby's fighting for a glimmer of hope to stay alive, its heartbreaking to hear them crying for help, they have done nothing wrong in this world and their only hope for life is a truly dedicated team of professionals, these people also need our help to buy vital equipment and provide support for the parents during these anxious times.

Without the LGI none of this work can be done, we all need this hospital along with the others in the country, we are wanting to donate funds to both the CHSF and the Save Our Surgery campaign, even though the LGI covers the biggest regional area children are still brought in from all over the country, these dedicated teams of professionals are a blanket of security for our children's lives, they are on call 24 hours 365 days a year, you don't know when you or someone you care for will need them, we didnt know either but thanks to the staff at the LGI we now have our baby fixed and at home warm in bed
