Story
I have decided to try to raise some money for the Crohn's MAP Vaccine and at the same time, undertake a new personal challenge. I'm originally from Sutton Coldfield (West Midlands) but moved to Skipton (North Yorkshire) many years ago. Over this time, I have returned on many occasions to visit family and friends, but I have always driven (it's around 130 miles!) so I thought it might be fun to try cycling the distance instead! This journey takes 2-and-a-half hours by car, and I am expecting it to take closer to 15 hours by bike!
Although I have done quite a lot of long-distance walking, including three 100km walks, I have not cycled anything like this distance before and certainly not in one go, so it will be a real challenge for me! I am a Crohn's "sufferer" myself, so all donations are therefore very much appreciated. Whatever happens, I know it will be a great adventure :-)

The Crohn's MAP Vaccine being developed at Kings College represents a real chance of an effective long term treatment for Crohn's. The vaccine now needs funding to move into the human trials phase. All proceeds donated via this page goes directly towards the funding of the MAP vaccine and development of the MAP test (vital for human trials to take place).
I am now planning to do the ride on 1st June, or the 2nd, 3rd or 4th if the weather is looking a bit dodgy....I'd like to at least be able to stay fairly dry ;-)
