Story
This page has been set up as a tribute to Nigel Smith, a much-loved husband, father, son, brother, nephew, uncle and friend. He is greatly missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him.
Nigel was diagnosed with Ewing's Sarcoma in November 2007, and despite short-term recovery following initial treatment he was re-diagnosed in April 2009. He battled the disease with typical lion-hearted courage and determination before sadly passing away on Friday 6th July 2012. He was only 44 years old, and leaves behind loving wife Tina and his two children Holly (11) and Daniel (7).
Nigel was a larger than life character and was much loved by all who knew him. His passing leaves a massive hole in all our lives. The family have requested donations in lieu of flowers for his funeral, and are raising money for Sarcoma UK - a small charity who undertake a variety of research and support activity to help families going through the same experiences that we've had to suffer. We hope that you can give generously and leave a personal message of your memories of Nigel; this will be of great comfort to all his family in what is a very difficult time.
