Story

Help us to help VSO make a difference with people and communities in Ghana - visit our weblog at:http://horrocksesonvso.blogspot.com/

We will be going to Ghana on May 13th (predicted date) for two years. We are still going through the VSO processes but it looks as though my role (Nigel) will be to support the managers at the District Education Office in Lawra and work with staff to identify the professional development needs of Headteachers in the area and design an appropriate CPD programme with them. Jenny's role will be to support primary school teachers with Basic Skills and 'phonics' (a way of learning to read).

Lawra is in the (Upper Western District of Ghana), right on the border with Burkina Faso, hot and tough, no hills!

VSO is a fantastic organisation and we want  to raise funds so that VSO can continue to send people like us to communities that can benefit from our experience and skills. It costs £15K a year to send a volunteer. That's £60K for the two of us for two years.

Please dig deep and sponsor us online (see below)

Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor us: Voluntary Service Overseas will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.

So please sponsor us now!

Many thanks for your support.
