Story
Well.........I did it!!!!
With thoughts of all your good wishes and support and of course the reason why I was doing it in the first place fresh in my mind I plodded on, and on, and on, and on until finally 16 miles after declaring "it was a doddle" I saw the finishing line, of this 17mile walk, in sight at 5am and was simply delighted to get a seat........oh and the medal!
As most of you know this wasn't the first personal challenge I have ever faced but it certainly was the most exhausting! However having done it, and recovered from incredibly sore hips and knees (!) I couldn't be prouder that my friends and family have raised so much money for this worthy cause. Its fair to say that ordinarily I am the last person who would ever have manage (or volunteer!) to do this kind of walk but with the encouragement and support of all my sponsors it has shown me, not for the first time, that even the unthinkable can be overcome.
If you haven't already shown your support (or sheer surprise!) then I'd urge you to make a donation retrospectively and if you have then a million thank yous for doing so - you HAVE, without doubt, made a difference.
