Story

Hey Everyone

So I've rather bravely - or is that foolishly?? - joined The Achy Breaky Bears!

The Achy Breaky Bears is a group of not so elite athletes and generally bad blokes and women from Northampton, UK (and me in LA!!) who will be tackling a number of challenges that will push us to our limits !!!

For the past 12 months the team has been in training for various events around the UK and this year they will be pushing themeselves to the limits as a number of super brave team members will be entering all of the UK Tough Mudder events and some around Europe too and hopefully some marathons !!!

I will be joining them for the Tough Mudder event in my home county Northamptonshire at Boughton House on Sunday July 13 - yes -  just one day before I turn 43!!

I have decided to do this for two reasons - the first because I am having a mini mid-life crisis and need to get fit !! And secondly - and more importantly - to raise money for Great Ormond Street Hospital.

I have ten months to get into some sort of reasonable shape - and the plan is to hopefully lose 90lbs along the way - and raise at least £1,500 for the charity.

The team trains very hard for these events and some of the training includes swimming in frozen lakes, assault courses in the snow, training, running and excercising with gas masks on amongst other things so we are definitely earning the money that you donate !!!

Tough Mudder events are hardcore 10-12 mile obstacle courses designed by British Special Forces to test your all round strength, stamina, mental grit and camaraderie. Information and videos on the event may be found here www.toughmudder.co.uk

We will be completing the course to raise money for GOSH as my adorable nephew Lucas (who is also the son of team captain Mark Pittam) has been under their care over the past three years and Great Ormond Street are doing an amazing job so if people can dig as deep as possible that would be amazing even if its only £1 it all helps towards this great cause !!!

Thanks for donating and HOORAHHHHHHHHH !!!
