Story
In February 2007, I am taking part in the Westminster Challenge which is an arduous fundraising trek across the Arctic wilderness by husky dog sled with a cross-party team of Members of Parliament. The team will travel through Finland, Sweden and Norway.
This exciting expedition gives me a great opportunity to raise the profile of the local and national charities I have chosen to back.
The funds raised will support three national charities (Cancer Research UK, The Children’s Society and Crimestoppers) as well as my chosen local charity, Whirlow Hall Farm Trust.
Whirlow Hall Farm Trust is a charity based in my constituency whose aim is to reach out to those children most disadvantaged in our society.
Based on a real working farm, Whirlow is able to offer young children, often from the most disadvantaged areas of Sheffield and South Yorkshire, an extraordinary opportunity to experience country life and explore a vital part of their environment.
Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor me: the charities will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.
I am keen to raise the target figure of £5,000, and even more, to fund the charities' crucial work. So please sponsor me now!
Many thanks for your support.
