Story

*27/8/09*

We made it!!!! Sorry this is a little delayed with updating our site here but things have been pretty hectic for the three of us since we arrived home. Sadly only three of the four team members arrived home a few weeks back as Hilda is still in a 'recycling centre' in the Arctic Circle. Thankyou to everyone for the generous donations and great moral support!! We appreciate everybody's input and help however big or small. So not long left until our JustGiving page closes for good - so if you are still interested in donating then now is the time!

Once again a big Thankyou to you all!

*Update! 31/7/09 *

Anyone who donates to us will be entered into a Prize draw for £100 of Go Ape! vouchers that can be used at any Go Ape! site in the UK. Winners will be annouced on Sunday 16th of August! Thankyou to everyone so far who's donated : ) We really appreciate all your support.

Hello everyone!

Firstly, thankyou for visiting our JustGiving page. We really appreciate your time and any donations. The task that we've set ourselves is a first for all of us, we've never done anything like it!

We're taking part in an event called the Scally Rally - The Arctic Rally. Essentially it's kind of like a Top Gear challenge. We will be driving from The Hague, Holland to Bodo, northern Norway (just inside the Arctic Circle) in just five days. That's a distance of about 2500 miles. Averaging around 500 miles a day, along with secret tasks everyday, set by the event organisers, it's going to be a tough challenge! We leave for The Hague on the 6th of August and the rally starts on the 7th finishes on the 11th. Hopefully we'll be home by the 13th.

Thinking it doesn't sound too bad so far? The biggest catch of them all is that we had to buy our car for £100 or less!! We've got our hands on a Volvo 740 estate from 1990 and her name is Hilda. She's not needed too much work doing and hopefully will see us through all the way to Bodo. I do have the feeling we'll experience at least one breakdown though...She'll be getting a new look fairly soon as our main sponsor for the rally are the lovely people at Nice'N'Naughty ( www.nicennaughty.co.uk ) They will be helping us out with Hildas makeover so we'll post up some photos of her and how our plans are turning out as they happen!

Now, the important part!

We're raising money for Help For Heroes - A charity that is dedicated to supporting our wounded servicemen and women returning from conflicts accross the globe. For more information about Help for Heroes and the work they do go to www.helpforheroes.org.uk They really are a great charity and it's a great cause that they are supporting. Even though the conflicts across the globe may not make headline news everyday, there are still a lot of our men and women serving in the Forces and we shouldn't forget that! So any donations are hugely appreciated as we've set ourselves the target of raising £2000 - We're looking to smash this target so please dig deep!

Thankyou again for taking the time to come on our JustGiving page and an even bigger thankyou for donating to Help for Heroes.
