Story
Audrey Roofeh and Paul Hanson, dba Team Newyorkistan, need your help to raise money for Send A Cow.
This is the deal: Paul and Audrey are the only New Yorkers taking part in the 2006 Mongol Rally - a rally that starts in London, and continues over 15 countries, 5 mountain ranges, two deserts - all in a crap car with no back up team - and (wait for it) - it's for charity! Yes! That's why you're here at our fundraising page!
The Mongol Rally is a charitable event that raises money for an organization called Send A Cow. Send a Cow is a charitable organization that offers direct, practical help to poor farmers in Africa by providing: cows and other livestock, training in livestock rearing and organic farming, low-cost veterinary and advice services. Send A Cow supports some of Africa’s poorest people - ultimately enabling them to work their own way out of poverty.
The gift of livestock combats malnutrition by providing valuable food sources, such as milk and eggs, as well as increasing the amount of fresh vegetables available through the use of manure on the land. Surplus supplies can be sold to help generate an income that can be invested to secure a better future, such as sending children to school.
Send A Cow operates in sub-Saharan Africa, and has focused efforts on working with women, the disabled and child-headed households.
Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Send a Cow will receive your money faster.
So please sponsor me now!
Many thanks for your support.
