Story

Between 10th-21st of June 2009, friends Neil Perryman and Palma Carter climbed the highest free-standing mountain in the world – Mt Kilimanjaro in Tanzania. At a height of 19,340 feet or 5,900 metres (that’s almost six kilometres!), Mt Kilimanjaro is the highest mountain in Africa and the tallest volcano in the world.

The trek took Neil and Palma through the rainforests of Tanzania and up the Lemosho route of the mountain over 11 gruelling days and nights. They ascended almost six kilometres and walked over 90 kilometres in total. In addition to covering all of their expedition costs themselves, Neil and Palma also raised over £4000 in donations for UNICEF.

You can follow Neil and Palma's adventure via their blog

Please Note: all of your money goes directly to UNICEF. The expedition costs are not funded by your kind donations. Many thanks
