Story
Team NCAR are doing quite possibly the hardest obstacle course available to the public. Tough Mudder is all about team work. It is not a race but about being there to support each other, just like NCAR, who are there to help out all the animals they look after each year. NCAR are not about rehoming as many animals as possible, but about finding the right pet for you who you will love and allow into your home as your new family member.
NCAR receive no government funding and rely purely on donations from the public and fundraising events. They really deserve to be acknowleged for the hard work they do. By just reading some of the stories on their Facebook and website, you can see how they have helped thousands of families over the years by pairing them with amazing animals, that, for no fault of their own, were abandoned on the streets. Without NCAR, these beautiful animals could have been injured on the streets, or even worse, put down.
NCAR has been rehoming animals since 1981 and is one of the largest independant animal rescues in the UK, having around 120 dogs, 60 cats and 10 rabbits residing at the rescue at any one time. However, despite their size and popularity, they still struggle each day as they do not receive any support from the government - something that really needs to be reconsidered.
It's for this reason that we have formed "Team NCAR" to complete Tough Mudder on Saturday 5th October 2013
Please support our team - we are made up of NCAR Staff, commitee members and supporters. We will have been training hard for this and it is for a well deserved cause!
