Story
I will God willing be running the Bradford 10K Run (Sunday 19th March 2017) AND Keighley 10K Run (Sunday 26th March 2017) to raise vital funds for SKT Welfare's UK Homeless & Needy Programme initiative.
For 1 year now SKT Welfare in partnership with the Muslim Women's Council’s Curry Circle Project has been providing warm meals 3 times a month serving the homeless and destitute in Bradford. £200 a month will cover the cost of a 2 course meal cooked by the renowned My Lahore with multiple servings, drinks, venue hire for 100 people who are struggling. I am aiming to insh'Allah raise £4,800 (WITH YOUR SUPPORT) which will cover 12 months for the TWICE a month soup kitchen.
For over 3 years now on a weekly basis on every Thursday I have been serving food to the homeless & destitute with almost 100 people in attendance. I've heard of real life accounts of people saying they haven't had food for several days, the've survived on crisps with each day a daily struggle. This is why I am appealing to you, it really pains me in 21st century Britain people from all communities are struggling for food & shelter something I take for granted.
Please help me to help the most vulnerable in our communities. Our job is to serve those who are struggling from the diverse communities of Bradford irrespective of religious affiliation or ethnicity. I have an 18 year track record of participating in community and humanitarian initiatives at the local, national and international levels. For me ‘Charity Starts At Home’. You can see videos from the past initiatives on my Youtube Channel.
SKT Welfare have already on a weekly basis been running the Baraka Community Kitchen since September 2015, this service also includes home deliveries to those who are struggling for food and cannot attend.
SKT Welfare operate a 100% Donation Policy which means every penny will go towards helping the most vulnerable on the ground.
Please help me to help the homeless & destitute in the UK. After all charity starts at home.
