Story
Thanks for visiting my fundraising page.
Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Project 65 gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.
So please sponsor me now! Project 65 has been created to honour the memory of the men who took part in the Coup de Main operation to capture the bridges on the Caen canal and river Orne in the early hours of D-Day 65 years ago. The Bridges are now known as Pegasus and Horsa Bridges. 200 runners will leave Tarrant Rushton airfield on June 4th and run 65 miles to Pegasus Bridge to celebrate the 65th Anniversary of D-Day on the 6th June 2009. Project 65 hopes to raise £500,000 part of which will be used to erect a simple but lasting memorial to the men of the Coup de Main force. The rest of the money raised will be split between the following charities.
The Royal British Legion
Help for Heroes
BLESMA
St Dunstan's
Army/RAF benevolent Fund
All worthy causes for past and present Servicemen/Women
