Story
Hello!
Firstly, a little about my programme... I will be going to Nigeria on 1st October with VSO-ICS (Voluntary Service Overseas in partnership with International Citizen Service) to work on projects in education and secure livelihoods. I will soon get more detailed information on the exact work I will be doing and will update this as soon as I know.
A little about the VSO-ICS scheme... VSO-ICS is government funded scheme that enables young people to take part in poverty fighting projects in a bid to tackle poverty as part of the Millenium Development Goals. VSO an international development charity which aims to fight poverty through sending volunteers out to developing and impoverished countries to work on carefully selected projects in areas such as healthcare, AIDS awareness, education and youth leadership.
Where you come in... The first part of my ICS programme requires me to fundraise for VSO in the months leading up to my departure. All money raised goes straight back to VSO in order to allow them to find more and more skilled volunteers here and overseas to work together on these projects. I will be organising bake sales, fundraising events, raffles, sponsored events and much more to raise as much as I can, as well as using this page for any donations and sponsorships you can make to help me achieve my target. I really appreciate any support you can give over the next few months, be it donating here, attending events or buying my cakes. All events will be shown on this page on the section below this!
I appreciate anything you can donate, every penny counts.
Please, help me give someone a chance for a better life.
Thank you.
