Story
Brake is a national road safety charity who campaign to prevent needless deaths and injuries that happen on the roads of Britain every day. Devastatingly, statistics show that every 30 seconds, someone, somewhere in the world is killed or injured in a road crash. The main aim of this amazing charity is to not only prevent the dangers that our roads bring, but to also support and work closely with the families and individuals affected by road accidents. They help to promote road safety awareness, safe and sustainable road use and also effective safety policies.
By choosing Brake as my charity for the 2016 London Marathon, I hope the money I raise will help to prevent the heartache that comes with road crashes.
In June 2014, Liberty Baker, a kind, caring and vibrant 14 year old from my school was cruelly taken from us after being hit by a car whilst walking to school. Brake have supported the Baker family during such a indescribably difficult time. I not only want to run for Brake to help make a difference, but I also want to run this big challenger for Liberty and her amazing family and friends.
Some people will say I'm mad for choosing to run the Marathon, and I know it's going to be one of the most challenging tasks I've ever endured, I won't be running this alone Liberty will be with me every step of the 26.2 miles.
