Story

In memory of my cousin Helen's daughter Natalie we are raising funds for Teenage Cancer Trust. Natalie was a brave, outgoing, funny, selfless and amazing girl who sadly lost her 3 year battle with cancer on the 2nd May 2015 at just 20 years old with one of the biggest brain tumours medics have ever seen. She was a very popular girl who kept upbeat thoughout her treatment and never complained. Natalie will be sadly missed by all who knew her.

My husband, Billy and I are taking part in a number of running events over a year to raise money for Teenage Cancer Trust in Natalie's name. Back in February'15  I could only run 5k, with lots of training we started our fundraising with the Lochleven half and after a number of events will finish our year of fundraising with the Edinburgh full 29th May 2016

We have both completed the Lochleven Half Marathan, the Spartan Super- a 10 mile obstacle race though hills mud and water. The touch of tartan half marathon which Billy placed 16th in and 6th for his age group and the Scottish Equality runs- billy placing 3rd in his age group and I placed 4 in my age group. It was very hot at the Scottish half however I still managed to knock a few minutes off my past half marathon times.

On 4th October we took to the hills in the Mamores Half Marathon which is part of the Glencoe Marathon Gathering starting at Kinlochleven running up through the Mamores until the descent into Glen Nevis and to the base of Ben Nevis. The sun came out for us giving us beautiful views of the hills. Again Billy came in 16th place. We returned to another hilly half marathon 24th Oct and completed the path to condie. It was another sunny day at the Alloa half and we both managed to cross the finish line with PBs. We are now training for Edinburgh Marathon 26.2 miles.

Our kids Ewan (11) Zoë (9) Lilias (7) and Zara (5) completed the kids Spartan race.

Lots of other family members and friends of Natalie have been very busy over the year raising over £11,875 on the just giving site in Natalies name see team Natalie https://www.justgiving.com/teams/NatalieGray there's been people jumping of of planes, sponsored hacks, a fling for Natalie, postcards to heaven, race for life, pretty mudder just to name a few. There's also been a lot of off line fundraising. Both Bannockburn primary and high school, the schools Natalie attended held fundraising events.

Natalie's story also helped strathcarron hospice at home win the National Lottery award in the health project.

***Natalie has had a song produced in her memory called "Heavenly Message" which will be available soon***

Please help us raise some funds to help others, by sponsoring us/donating whatever you can. Teenage Cancer Trust were there for Natalie together we can help other's just like her. Thank you! ❤️
