Story
If you are reading this, then you already have an idea of what I'm trying to accomplish. Running a marathon has been a long deferred goal for me, but it took my good friend Amanda Galsworthy to dare me to do it. We're a few weeks into training as I write this, and everything is going pretty well - some tough days, and lots of great ones.
Getting ready for this race has meant pushing myself beyond my limits every single week - and while that alone is a huge pay-off (physically and mentally) - I'm also hoping to raise money for the charity that Amanda ran with last year. Get Kids Going supplies disabled kids with mobility and sporting equipment, and has a long a reputable history. On a personal note, I'm also running this race for my older brother, who passed away late last year. This time around, I was too late to raise money for an appropriate charity (he died of a heart attack), but I will be carrying a keepsake/memento/reminder of him around Paris this April.
I'll keep this short - but if you can donate anything to this worthy charity, I'd be over the moon! (and with luck, perseverance, and a balanced diet, I'll be over the finish line in 2009). Thanks!
