Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

In 2001 my Father was diagnosed with cancer, even though he was in his 70's we prayed his illness would be treatable, but unfortunately his condition was terminal. This was devastating news not only for my Father, but also for myself and other members of my family.I became sole carer for my father for the the remaining months of his life, and sadly he passed away at Myton Hospice on Jan 2nd 2002.Without the help and support we received from Macmillan, day to day life and the responsibility of caring for my Father would have been much more difficult.

Earlier this year i was browsing through a Golf Magazine and i read an article about a group of people who had completed the Macmillan Longest Day Golf Challenge, i was inspired !!!!! Being an avid golfer and a bit of a masochist, i thought this challenge would be "Taylor Made" for me  (note the plug Mr Adidas/Taylor Made). Days later i mentioned my crazy fundraising idea to a group of my golfing buddies (Mark Woolerton, Will Smith, Andy Richter) and within seconds they all said "lets do it !" We even managed to find people willing to caddy for us !!

On June 29th 2013 we will begin our challenge. Our aim is to complete 72 holes of golf, played over 4 different course's between dawn and dusk. We will start our first round of golf at 4.30am, and hope to complete our 4th and final round by 9.45pm.

This is quite a challenge, but it's nothing in comparison to the challenge faced by those affected by cancer.A challenge that will hopefully  be made easier by the care and support offered by Macmillan.

Please be generous and dig deep. Without Macmillan Cancer Support life would be even more difficult for those affected by cancer, and without your kind donations there would be no Macmillan.

 A BIG BIG THANKYOU
