Story
We're joining Cancer Research UK's Race for Life this year. Please join the fight by digging deep and sponsoring us - it's quick, easy and totally secure.
Gemma & Katie are running for their Grandad who survived skin cancer and their uncle who survived Hodgkin's Lymphoma a couple of years ago. Gem says "Cancer is a common ailment that doesn't necessarily have to be a common killer if given an increased amount of resource into treatment". Katie says "As well as running for Macmillan, I will also be running to get away from Gembag's body odour - it's self preservation really."
Ness is running for everyone and says " I'm lucky enough not to have lost anyone close to me from cancer so I'm doing it for all those that have".
Claire is getting muddy for all her patients and particularly those who are currently participating in oncology and haematology research studies at The James Paget University Hospital. She is also running for her best friend Tanya, family friend Val and Grandfather who were all taken too soon; a number of friend and family survivors; and for Pink Pong charity.
Events like this are vital in funding Cancer Research UK's life-saving work into preventing, diagnosing and treating cancer. By sponsoring us, we can unite and create an army that cancer can't ignore. By sponsoring us, we will beat cancer sooner.
