Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.
My name is Adrian Clancy, im originally from Ireland but I have been living in the UK for a few years now, and my partner in crime is Zsolt Varkonyi, originally from Hungary but also living in the UK for the past few years. We both work as mechanics in a motorcycle dealership in the South West of England.
We are attempting to cross Scotland Ireland Wales and England in 24 hours to raise awarness and funds for the charity Malaria no more UK.
On the way we will be travelling through Edinburgh Cairnryan Belfast Dublin Rosslare Pembroke Cardiff and finishing in London.
We hope to leave Edinburgh on Sunday morning the 19th August 2012 and arrive in london just under 24 hours later on Monday morning 20th August.
Because we will be trying to complete the trip within 24 hours we will be using motorways where possible and of course 2 ferries, from Scotland to Ireland and from of Ireland to Wales.
At the moment we plan to use our own motorcycles, I have a 1993 Yamaha FJ1200, and Zsolt has a 1989 Yamaha FJ1200, big fast and comfortable (and old) but with a tendency to drink fuel like its going out of fashion.
We have taken both bikes around France and Belgium last summer so we know they are more than up to the job. However both bikes will be stripped, rebuilt and fully serviced before the trip to ensure we dont have any breakdowns on the way.
We will update this page with news/pics etc over the next few weeks.
