We pioneer life-saving cancer research to help us beat cancer

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

Dad died in 1991. Cancer of the oesophogus (wind pipe) took him away in just 12 months. Dad was 45 at the time. Survival rates were just 2%. He didn't really stand much of a chance. Today, it is Britain's sixth most common form of cancer. The 5-year survival rate is still just 8%. More research will be needed to make sure that other people's dads do stand a chance.  I am attempting to raise £100,000 to fund research. It might take ten years. It might take twenty. I will just have to keep walking, running and cycling until me and my long suffering training pal, Janne, get there!

A big THANK YOU to all those who sponsored us during our recent challenge: a 1,200 km bike ride from London to Nice in the South of France.  I only fell off the bike 5 times (Janne managed 6).  But we made it and I have posted a few piccies to prove it.

Now, on to the next challenge in August. Starting in John o Groats we will be cycling the length of Britain to end up 7 days later in Land's End. And this time we know just how much the saddle hurts! so please keep giving, because I would hate to have to go through all that for nothing!!!

Just Giving is simple and secure. And remember, using Gift Aid means even more money for research.

Dig deep. Give what you can. For dad and others like him. Thanks!
