WHAT WILL YOU DO THIS SUMMER?
LONDON – ULAAN BATAAR
Ulaan What? Where? Who? Why? When? How???
Yep, this is a challenge with loads of ??? A Rally from London (England) to Ulaan Bataar (Mongolia ), in an old crapy car with a 1L or less engine. Team Boulder Mobile (Ridha and Jon) will be driving more than 8000 miles this summer in our old banger across 17 countries (all top holiday destinations, obviously). This expedition will be full of: Fun, adventure, problems, driving (obviously) and lots more… to be completed. Are we nuts?… hmmm Probably, actually... yes Definitely!!! Our banger : A 2CV for the French touch, looking for as much VA VA VOOM as possible. Thank you so much Matt for donating your car to us. We will be very nice to her...
The Rally: The Mongol Rally is a charity event that raises money for an awesome charity with a slightly ridiculous name: Send a Cow. Our aim, as well as completing the rally is to raise over 2000 pounds for the charity. The course of the Mongol Rally will pit our banger against some of the most remote parts of the world with thousands of miles of desert, forest, mountain, bad roads and no roads at all. No support vehicles, no carefully marked course, no professional drivers, no fast cars or even good cars. It’s just us, our banger of a car and thousands of miles of adventures. Details of the rally can be found on this link: www.mongolrally.co.uk/
For more info about the charity please visit: www.sendacow.org.uk/
Oh, almost forgot… What do we do when we get there? If we ever get there (only 14 out of 43 cars made it last year)! Sell the car (again the money goes to the charity) and then come back by what ever means possible… for more details talk to us or email us (bentibar@hotmail.com and jkemp_06@hotmail.com). We will be setting up a website to keep you all informed of: the car, the route, the progress...
How can you help? The most important thing at the moment is sponsoring us by giving generously. Mental support will be much appreciated when we will be on the road (if we can be in contact at all).
Many thanks for your support.
Ridha and Jon
