Story
Hi all,
Well finally after bad knees, bike accidents and pulled limbs from mountain climbing I'll be running my first but hopefully not my last marathon in April 2014! As an added twist I'll be running the last mile in a handmade dress in tribute to the sewing skills my Nan passed down me through the genes.
I'm so excited but super nervous too but I'm lucky enough to be running for a really fantastic charity who mean a great deal to me, Age UK.
Those who know me know how important my grandparents were to me and how relevant and important I think the older generation are. My grandparents were lucky to enjoy the autumn of their years surrounded by family and friends.
Sadly this isn't true for everyone and this is why the work Age UK does is so important. They campaign for the rights of older people whether it's to enable them to heat their houses when it gets cold or lobby the government so that people get the care they deserve and can remain with their partners.
So no matter how hard I find it racking up the miles through the wind, rain, snow and cold this winter I'll be spurred on by the money I raise to help people who really deserve to be enjoying their later life rather than worrying whether they should buy something to eat or heat their homes.
Any amount you can give will be so gratefully received and I'll be keeping you all up to date on my progress.
Thank you so much,
Rehanon :)
