Story

MADE IT!!!

After all the training, sweating and chafing, I finally arrived in Paris, with all my fellow-riders, in good spirits and looking forward to the celebration!!

Thank you to Tina, Jayne and Mark with whom I shared most of the days - their good humour, especially Mark's in the wake of his five, yes FIVE, punctures on day one, was a joy to be part of and made the hours fly by.

Respect and congratulations on finishing to Matt, who did the whole 300-odd miles with a completely buggered knee and was still smiling when we go to the end - well done m-man.

And of course, to everyone who has sponsored and supported me in this challenge, I say a huge thank you, not just from, me but from Macmillan's and their clients as well. It would have been a painfully pointless exercise without your money coming in to support the incredible work that Macmillan do - thank you and well done all!

SECOND UPDATE: Am now doing 60+ miles per ride, and can still walk afterwards!

Just did the London 2 Brighton ride, about 68 miles altogether, with some terrific hills, and felt quite chuffed to only have to have walked up the last one, at Ditchling Beacon, which is about a mile and a half, and something around 1 in 5 or 1 in 6. Only the young 'uns managed it without walking!

Fundraising is still very slow, so if you're reading this please consider making a donation, or if you already have, how about passing details of this page and my efforts to all your friends - every little helps, and I need all the "every little help" I can get!

To those who've already donated - a great big THANK YOU!

To those who are about to donate - an equally big THANK YOU!

To those who aren't donating - shame on you, please reconsider - it's all for a great cause!

Mike :-)

UPDATE: Am now up to 45 miles per ride, and feeling reasonably fit afterwards (now that never happened last year)!

Fundraising is a bit slow, so if you're reading this please consider making a donation, or if you already have, how about passing details of this page and my efforts to all your friends - every little helps, and I need all the every little help I can get!

To those who've already donated - a great big THANK YOU!

To those who are about to donate - an equally big THANK YOU!

To those who aren't donating - shame on you, please reconsider.

Mike :-)

After successfully raising over £2000 last year, I'm back on the bike to try and do even better for Macmillan Cancer Support in 2009.

If you've found your way to this page, whether you know me or not (what are you doing here if you don't know me), please don't leave without making a donation. Large or small, it doesn't matter - although obviously larger is better! But even if it's only a couple of quid it will help.

If you want to know more about Macmillan Cancer Support and the fantastic work they do, visit www.macmillan.org.uk. Then when you've read about how they help people, come back and give another couple of quid - you'll feel much better, really you will.

          Making a Donation = Making a Difference

PS I'm required to tell you that approximately 32% of the minimum sponsorship of £1350 goes towards expenses; 100% of anything raised over the £1350 will benefit Macmillan directly. So you can see how generous I need you to be!
