Story

Hi,

Why have you decided to fundraise?

I have always liked the idea of fundraising with the bonus of getting fit as well, however, I’ve not been active enough to seek the challenge that suits me. My colleague announced this event. This coupled with the recent inspiration from my friend, Jack Graziotti, who had raised $500 to get a Tanzanian student to college, was enough to get me to do anything for the greater good.

I first came across this organisation professionally while working for Cavendish Imaging where directors Andrew Dawood and Susan Tanner support this charity. Using 3D photography, we can calculate symmetrical volume analysis and prepare surgical guides for invasive surgery that carefully reduces the size of facial tumours. This is merely one type of surgery performed by Saving Faces. I have since been shown results and its very remarkable how their team of professionals can literally change people’s lives and give a smile for a lifetime.

What are you doing to raise money?

My goal is to ride for 50 miles as that is the suggested distance, although, this may be a tad overzealous with my 1970’s model converted Peugeot Single Speed racer. That said I’m going to give it my best crack and if I surpass it, then i'll aim for 60 then 70 and so on...time is my only limiting factor. I have been heavily involved in exercise for fun and have been competing in low level CrossFit competitions for many years now, so I’m keeping the engine running all the time. Let's hope I can keep that engine running for 6 hours!!!

Why Saving Faces Foundation?

I’m very glad to support this charity as I have seen first hand the initial and final results. Its amazing. This also marks my first charitable exercise challenge and will spur on many more so stay tuned.

How will the money raised help?

Your easily transferred savings go to keeping this organisation at the forefront of transforming peoples lives and given as many people the chance to have a normal face, with a bigger, more beautiful smile than they can already muster, showing love and appreciation for life. What does people’s support mean to you?

Please support me. You will find a little spark of happiness from within as soon as you click DONATE on my page. I was inspired by Jack to do something, anything and when this popped up I jumped all over it. I’ve always been a Just Giving ‘donator’, now hopefully I can inspire some other people to ‘click’ a few buttons. Every single penny will help. But I stress, please don’t stop there. I dare you to go one better and pay forward the gesture of the task by starting your own challenge. You won’t regret it.
