Story
In July Basil and I are going on a big adventure. We are walking the Coast to Coast route. It covers nearly 200 miles from the sea cliffs of St Bees on the Irish Sea, to the fishing village of Robin Hood’s Bay on the North Sea by when we will have ascended and descended the equivalent height of Mount Everest (29,029 feet)
Because Basil will have just celebrated his 15th birthday and is blind, he will only walk a couple of hours a day and the rest of the time I will carry him in his customised rucksack.
We're planning for the walk to take 16 days as we pass through three National Parks and across a real cross-section of England’s best landscapes.
We'd like to raise a minimum of £200 a day for the Dogs Trust - our favourite charity. If you have a spare minute please click on the Dogs Trust logo to have a look at the wonderful work they do.
