Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
I've been lucky enough to have been given someone else's number for the Bath Half - a hyper fit friend of my brother is a little TOO keen, putting himself down for two different Half Marathon's at exactly the same time.Fortunately for me, I wanted to run the Bath Half, but applied too late and couldn't get a number - so now - I'm "Paul Salmon" if you look at the official stats.... but it is me, honest!! Now, having secured Pauls number I got thinking - the people that know me know that I do different events of vaying levels of daftness all the time, so a one off half marathon won't get me that much fundraising money. So I needed to raise the bar a little... So on the back of the Bath Half Marathon, I've decided to either run in organised 1/2 marathons, or make up my own, with a goal of running at LEAST 13.1094 miles in one stint, at LEAST once every month this year. Hopefully that'll help raise a little bit more for Love Hope Strength - a brilliant Cancer Charity set up to raise money and awareness for local hospices around the globe. Visit http://www.lovehopestrength.co.uk for a lot more on this fantastic charity. Please give generously - you all know how absolutely devastating Cancer is - I've lost my Mother and many other dear friends to this dreadful disease - and still there are others that are suffering now. This is for you all, especially Elsie. Thinking of you - keep your chin up ;-) UPDATE: First half marathon completed. 29th January 2012. Started and finished at home. Actual Distance 13:53 Miles. Awful time, of 2 hours 37 minutes. Target for next month, 2 hours 25. Will be down below 2 hours by the end of the year - hopefully a lot sooner!
