Story
Yes, it's cap in hand time again. I'm running not one, but two marathons in the spring of 2009 - London in April and Edinburgh in May.
And I haven't ever run a marathon before. (eek)
I'm raising money for Cancer Research - a few quid for such a worthy cause has got to be worth it for the pain, suffering and sheer effort I'll have to put in to achieve this. And that's just to get up early for a training run, nevermind the actual marathons themselves!
But seriously, thank you for your donations - every little bit helps tremendously.
15/04/2009: Many thanks to everyone who's sponsored me so far. There's now only 11 days to go before the London Marathon and the training's been going very well. Along the way I've got new PBs at 10 miles and in the Half Marathon and I've put in over 400 miles in training.
02/05/2009: Last Sunday I completed the London Marathon in 4:19. It was a great experience, but a very warm day! Let's hope for cooler conditions in Edinburgh.
02/06/2009: I completed the Edinburgh Marathon in 4:16, and on a hotter day than London! Thanks for all your donations :)
Here's the official bit:
Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It's also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Cancer Research UK gets your money faster and, if you're a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.

- Will I manage to get up early for those cold winter morning training runs?
- Will I need to sleep for a month after the first marathon?
