Story
Well - it's over! I can now hang up my trainers with pride (or burn them in some ceremonial ritual). I haven't quite decided which one it is yet...
So, I ran my little socks off and managed a respectable time of 4hrs 40 mins + 29 secs. I overtook the Masai Warriors, spotted loads of you in the crowd, and managed a few beers afterwards before collasping into bed feeling elated and emotional. I want to say a MASSIVE thanks for everyone's support, both mentally - I know how much of a running bore I've become, physically - thx Rob for carrying me to the frontdoor last night and financially - to all of you who have sponsored me!...Love you all!
Now as many of you know, I am really pleased to be running for a charity that is close to my heart - the Multiple Sclerosis Resource Centre. I've chosen the MSRC as Rob's dad was diagnosed with MS in October 2007. It's a great charity that provides support for MS sufferers and their families 24 hours a day. I've put in the hard work of training for all these months - now I'd be very grateful if you could do your bit and give generously so that I can reach my target...
Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor me: The Multiple Sclerosis Resource Centre will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.
Thanks so much for your support so far. You've all been brilliant and I really appreciate it - I know that the MSRC do too.
Love, Max
