We offer hope to families to transform the lives of sick children

Story

Hi everyone, my name is Mason,   I live in kidderminster,Worcestershire .......

I am 12 years old and my family are trying to raise money for an operation I need. I was born with cerebral palsy, due to lack of oxygen at birth. Which also caused me to be blind and have epilepsy.

The operation I need is called SDR. ( selective dorsal rhizotomy). I can't say it either! In the operation I have some of the nerves cut in my spinal cord. The reason for me needing it is because due to my cerebral palsy I have very stiff muscles and it can be very uncomfortable for me and makes caring for me very difficult sometimes.

I am a very happy boy and enjoy life,my favourite things are swimming, trampoline,I love music especially acdc! Oh and food(love that)....I do get very tight in my legs and I like to play my mom up a bit when she dresses me! I think it's hilarious but mom is getting on a bit so having sdr would make things easier for me and my family.

My physiotheripist  (Sally)  would be delighted I'm sure for me to be relaxed for her when I have physio ,so this operation will be life changing.....

The reason for me giving this site a go is because I went for all the tests for the operation and then the NHS decided they were going to cut the funding for it.

Having the operation will change my life and make it a happier and more comfortable one..

Also we will use funds for physiotherapy, hydrotherapy and any equipment mason needs in his recovery.....

Thank you for reading my story.

Should we exceed the target amount or if we do not raise enough funds, or if they cannot be used for any other reason, the funds raised will go to the general funds of Tree of Hope to assist other sick children.
