Story
Thanks to all at Symington's over £400 and counting from them alone.
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
6 of us (Martin Cloudsdale, Conrad Hercberg, Alex Smith, Adam Owens, Gareth Lewis, Marc Heuston ) are embarking on a cycle tour of the Czech Republic in April 2013. Covering 597 miles and climbing a total of 40798 feet (11000 feet more than everest) in 7 days of cycling.
As this tour was in the organising stages we decided that it would be a good idea if we could raise some money for charity along the way so I have set up this JustGiving page in order to raise money for Grace and her family and the charity that they get a lot of support from Martin's House.
There are two options for sponsoring me. One is via this website and the money will go to Martin's House and the other is to make a donation via paypal with the money going directly to 'Gifts For Grace'.
The paypal address is gifts@giftsforgrace.com
What is ‘Gifts For Grace’?
We are currently fundraising for a special little girl called Grace who often requires equipment that her parents are not always able to afford and are not always available on the NHS. Her parents have set up her own ‘fund’ where people can donate or fundraise to help with the cost of some of the items needed. A website for Grace is currently in progress.
Who is Grace?
Grace is a little girl who turned 3 years old in December 2012, Making her third birthday was a massive milestone as doctors didn’t expect her to live beyond her 1st birthday!!
Grace has a rare metabolic condition called Pyruvate Dehydrogenase Deficiency. (PDH Deficiency)
It is a rare, complex, life limiting illness that affects the brain and the metabolism of the body. The cells in Grace’s body have a malfunction which means they do not recharge as they should and are not forming in the correct way. This means her cells are missing what they need to make her body stay healthy and keep working.
Her condition has caused limited sight and lack of hearing, severe developmental delay, brain damage and poor muscle tone.
Any donation, large or small, is very much appreciated and will go towards items large and small that can benefit or enhance Grace’s life.
