Story

OK folks lets face it - despite my generally sporty and outdoor approach to life I havent done any sponsored events in years and I've contributed to many , so I dont feel bad about asking for money from all of you .

Also its a fantastic cause - so good that its the first thing I'm doing with my time  after leaving the BBC .In 10 years of Journalism I've visited hundreds of community projects across our land and this one ranks up there with Mornington as true , authentic and doing amazing work.  Go and check out more on the website but the Skainos project has an incredible vision for transforming one of the poorest areas of innercity East Belfast. The new site will great enhance the work already done by the mission - working with children ,the elderly , the homeless and the unemployed.

In Fact 10 mad people believe in it so much that they are cycling 1000 miles in 10 days across America in June. Unfortunately 6 weeks after Knee surgery I cant quite do the cycle but I will be leading the support team , driving the van and generally encouraging those lycra clad warriors to greater things. So please donate and if your a UK taxpayer tick the box and 28 % more will be added automatically to your gift . I shall make my own donation to cover the administrative costs of this website so every penny you give will go straight to the mission .

We are trying to raise £100 000 for the project and every bit you give will help .

Thanks in advance

Mark
