Story
Hello and thanks for taking the time to visit my fundraising page.
Latest news: I finished the bike ride in 5hrs! See photos from the event. You can still donate to help make a difference to those in need...
I will be taking part in the Manchester to Blackpool Bike Ride on Sunday 12 July 2009. At 63 miles, it's the North West's biggest Bike Ride and starts at Manchester United Football Ground and continues through Leigh, Haigh Hall and Preston, finishing by the Mirror Ball at the South Promenade in Blackpool.
I am raising money for the Wood Street Mission, which is a non-denominational charity helping to alleviate the effects of poverty on children, young people and families living in and around Manchester and Salford. Sadly, child poverty is a more serious problem in Greater Manchester than in many other parts of the UK. Your donation, no matter how large or small, will make a big difference. For example:
£10 could help a vulnerable child stay in school by paying for a new school uniform
£25 could prevent a child going without suitable clothing and toys for a whole year
£100 could help a struggling family with clothing, bedding, etc for an entire year plus food and toys at Christmas
Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Wood Street Mission gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.
I would be grateful if you could take the opportunity to sponsor me. Thank you
