We use connectivity & technology to drive social change & improve lives

Story

Thanks for taking the time to consider my self-serving plea for donations.  Seriously, however...

Lesotho is a country facing an HIV/AIDS crisis. Currently, 80,000 adults receive antiretroviral drugs, but only 4,000 children receive the same help. This is despite ARV (antiretroviral therapy) globally funded programs.

Our goal is to make access to treatment for 41,000 children now living with HIV in Lesotho possible by 2017. To that end, the Vodafone Foundation has been working with in-country partners, to bring many more children with HIV to clinics for treatment.

To pay for transportation to the HIV treatment centers, children can now receive the necessary support when funds are sent more easily than ever before, by using the M-pesa network technology. This makes support of this program much more possible, and direct.

It will cost the equivalent of $65 per child to access treatment for a 3 year period, which is the length of time necessary. We must raise $8 million to reach our 2017 target and the challenge for Vodafone employees is to raise $1 million toward that goal. Please consider your participation, and support toward this important goal.
