As you're probably aware, my plans for the Monaco marathon were dealt a bit of a blow when, a couple of weeks ago, the organisers decided to cancel it because of the French regional elections. All this just a bloody fortnight after I'd booked flights and accomodation.

To quote Harold MacMillan: "the French always let you down in the end".

Instead there'll be a half marathon in Monte Carlo which is no bad thing but I would have preferred a full event seeing as I've been in training for nine months for it!

Regardless, I'm still entering the race and am trying to raise a bit of money for the MS Society so would appreciate it if you could sponsor me.

Despite the message below, don't dig "too deep" because I will be back later in the year asking for more moolah for the Berlin marathon (that's right, I entered this quicker than you can say Maginot Line).
