Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page, here is a little story about the background.
Well we travel back over 24 years ago to a quiet little village in Devon, June and Alan, parents and grandparents to 5 adults and many many grandchildren and great grandchildren, June and Alan lived the quiet life in Dawlish where they would often see all the family and have them around for tea and cakes, no visitor was a problem, everyone was and still is welcome with open arms, grandad Alan would be pottering in the garden and June would be making delicious cakes and dinners for the family, June and Alan realised that there garden is so beautiful, they could open it yearly to the public and raise money for charity,And so they did, for 20 years right up to this day they have been fund raising for charities from there little garden in Dawlish,
But sadly just 15 years ago June and Alan had the devastating news that June has Cancer, lukiema and she would only have weeks to live, so that christmas the family pulled together and gave the best Christmas they could ask for, fortunately early new year June was offered a new treatment as a test, it either works or it won't, but not turning away a gift of life June started the medication straight away, and thankfully she is still with us today, standing strong against cancer, Alan and June continued to throw garden parties for charity, with an aim of reaching 50k and over the years they have made it to around 36K, now we have all noticed that June's health is deteriorateing and it's just to much to now carry on with the garden events, so this year will be the last charity garden party held here, so me her grandaughter Kym and a close family friend have set up this page in hope to keep the fund raising going and get them to the 50k dream.
£100 can offer benefit advice to those with cancer
£50 can ensure a cancer nurse is with the person when they are told they have cancer
£25 can offer an 1 hour support line, to talk to the carers and family and person with cancer, when they need it.
And if that to much just please give what you can to this beautiful charity and help others
Or maybe you will need that support line one day.
Thank you for reading
