Event: Neuroblastoma Alliance- Adam Bird Appeal, on 1 January 2015
We fund research and support families to access clinical trials for children.

Story

Adam is the son of my friend Nick Bird. In July 2009, at the age of 5, Adam was diagnosed with High Risk Neuroblastoma - a very aggressive children's cancer.

With the support of the Neuroblastoma Alliance, Adam and his family have been fighting the disease, and thanks to generous donations they have been able to pursue costly treatments that otherwise they would not have been able to afford.

But nothing is ever guaranteed with this kind of cancer and incredibly sadly, on the 11th July 2013, just 4 years later, despite amazing efforts Adam lost his fight against this terrible disease.

There are still many children out there who need the support Adam has had. Two children a week are currently diagnosed with the disease. So all funds raised through Adam's Appeal will be used to help other children and their families

I'm running 100 miles over 3 races this year for Adam's Appeal. It started with the Great Welsh Marathon on 21st April. Then at the end of July, as part of a team I will be attempting to run 8 x 10K circuits in 24 hours - a fraction short of 50 miles in one day. Finally in October I'll be running the York marathon.

Please give whatever you can. Don't worry how much, every pound is valuable and is very, very much appreciated.
