Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
Paul Sanders, an experienced cyclist and good friend of mine, announced one night in the bar that he was intending cycling from Lands End to John O' Groats and looking for someone to join him.
I've got a bike and enjoy a bit of a challenge so agreed, together with another friend Paul Ayres.
As if cycling 'end to end' wasn't tough enough, we are going to do the whole route unsupported, carrying all our belongings in panniers and staying in B&B's. The route chosen avoids main roads which will add extra distance to the challenge. Total distance estimated to be 1,000 miles.
We will of course be cycling the 'uphill' route starting at Lands End. The downhill route starting at John O' Groats is just for wimps!
As if all that wasn't hard enough we are aiming to complete the challenge in eight days! Starting 22nd May and arriving at John O' Groats on 29th May.
I'm hoping that by taking part in this challenge I will be able to raise lots of money for Christies. My mother received radiotherapy treatment there last year. There are so many people that can testify to the excellent treatment provided by Christies.

Many thanks to those that have donated. I'm pleased to confirm that we did indeed complete the challenge in eight days.
I'll update the website with further details of how the ride unfolded in the next couple of days.
