Story
Thank you for visiting my fundraising page for the 2009 London Marathon. I must be mad!! In fact you can see how mad I am - I had my hair dyed green for the event.
I ran the London Marathon in 4 hours 30 minutes and 58 seconds.
If you want to read all about my training progress, then visit: http://ulen.me.uk/ where I've posted updates of how things went.
You can also join my Facebook Group or follow me on Twitter
In all, up to and including the marathon, I ran 717 miles in 18 months. Towards the end of my training, I was averaging over 60 miles every month - and ran 131 miles in March alone (that's the equivalent of 5 marathons!!!)
I wasn't all about the 26.2 miles come April 26th....
As part of my training plan I also ran the Silverstone Half Marathon
in 2 hours 4 minutes.
This is how VRH can use your donations:
• £10 can help to pay for a trained volunteer to provide two sessions of one-to-one reading support for one child
• £20 can contribute to the cost of an end-of-term book exchange meeting for volunteers
• £50 may help to provide a box of books and games for a volunteer to use when working with children
Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Volunteer Reading Help gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.
So please sponsor me now!
Now I've done the marathon - I want to see if I can raise £100 for every mile that I ran, so donation really helps - even just a couple of pounds.
