MACEY'S MISSION STORY

Hi everybody,

We are three young lads from Margate, Kent, who are on a mission, MACEY'S MISSION to be precise. Macey is a relative of ours who is fighting the childhood cancer Wilm's. She was diagnosed on the 12th of February 2009 when she was three years old. Unfortunately she was suffering from bilateral Wilm's Tumors meaning both kidneys were affected, with lumps roughly the size of an adult fist growing on both kidneys and also the cancer was within the kidneys. After a few months chemotherapy to reduce the size of the tumours doctors gave the go-ahead for surgery on the 9th of June to remove the tumours on both kidneys, the whole of one kidney and half of the other. The operation has been a success and now Macey is hopefully on the road to recovery. We all know this road will be a long one, with weekly chemotherapy for some time to come and other scans, check-ups, etc., but she is strong and will make it stubbornly and 'bossily' through, we are all sure.

Macey has recieved much help and care during her illness, but none came as a bigger relief to her close family than the hospitality, understanding, care and love shown by the Ronald McDonald House in St. Georges Hospital, London during her early treatment. In Racheal and Garry's words they were no less than "a God send". We wanted to raise money for RMHC to help them continue their fantastic work and contribute to some of their new building plans for hospitals in BirminghamManchester, Stanmore among others.

That is why the three of us have planned a 400 MILE, 20 DAY WALK from Land's End, Cornwall to our home town Margate, Kent, starting on the 7th of June, 2010. Whilst covering the distance we will be camping (mostly 'wild-camping' at convienent spots) and also carrying all of our equipment on our own back. It proves to be a gruelling challenge for the three of us, who have no experience of endurance walking or much camping experience either and shall be doing every step of the way without a support team. However, if we are as determined as Macey in her fight against Wilm's, we are sure to succeed!

However, our success will not matter a jot without your support. We need your HELP! We need your SPONSORSHIP!!

Please be as generous as you can. The money raised is truely for a great cause and any support you can give is much appreciated!

Thank you very much,

Kenny, Tobias and Oliver
