Story
If lung cancer is detected early there is a much better chance of survival. Please support this exciting research project that is revealing chemical markers in breath samples to detect lung cancer cells at an early stage. In the future these chemicals could enable screening so that lung cancer to be spotted very early. Every year there are over 30,000 lung cancer deaths, more than any other cancer, so early detection could have a significant impact on the numbers of lung cancer deaths.
Breath of Life is funding a research assistant that is helping take this research towards being a practical tool that will help to screen those at risk. This innovative research is being undertaken at the University Hospital of North Staffordshire. We have reached the half way mark, but it is essential that we raise just over another £18,000 to fund the research for the final year.
This is important and groundbreaking research that could help to save lives, please support this appeal in whatever way you can.
