We run national awareness campaigns to educate and create awareness of melanoma

Story

A team of 8 of us are rowing the English Channel from Nuiport, Belgium to Ramsgate a distance of 54 miles on 8th June 2014 hoping to raise awereness and much needed funds for Myfanwy Townsend Melanoma Cancer Research. We are hoping to complete the crossing in under 15 hours.

The team is made up of:

Harvey Sharman LUFC's Head Physiotherapist, Ex LUFC fans favourite Rob Hulse, Ex fans favourite Richie Cresswell, Chris Short Ex Sheffield United  and presntly Head Conditioning Coach Bolton Wanderers, Campbell Watt Sports Massage Therapist, Giles Chalk ex Oxford Rowing Team, Lynne-Marie Welch and Anita Boessl Langstone Rowing Club.

The event has been inspired by the memory of one the clubs previous Conditioning Coaches, Bruce Craven. Bruce died tragically after a brief but courageous fight against this indiscriminate disease. Bruce was an all round athlete and an accomplished cricketer, javelin thrower and rugby player representing Leeds Tykes.

Bruce was an extremely fit man up to the time of diagnosis so If this could happen to Bruce, it could happen to anyone.

Please make any donation to help us prevent further people suffering from melanoma and to help existing sufferers with their treatment.
