Myles was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis at the age of 40. Now 48, he continues to fight this dreadful disease with immense dignity and humour. He has always remained philosophical about his situation – early in his illness Myles described himself as "a bird whose wings have been clipped" – and there is no doubt that his immense courage has supported those closest to him in dealing with his illness.

Myles was very fortunate to have met Teresa 5 years ago. Whilst very unwell in hospital late last year he proposed to her and she accepted. It was an honour for some of us to have been able to share that special day in the lives of two very brave people.

Multiple Sclerosis is a devastating disease affecting the central nervous system, reducing over time the individual’s ability to function. We are holding this event to raise funds to enable further research, in the hope that one day individuals receiving this diagnosis will be offered hope of a cure.
