Story
My mum was the most incredible mum, always so generous with her love and time. Not only the perfect mum, she was also the best Nanna. I felt so lucky that she was able to look after my own children while I worked. She doted on my babies and they adored her. How lucky we all were to have her so close in our lives.
In May 2021, my lovely mum was diagnosed with secondary lung cancer, having suffered with a nagging cough for a few weeks. She fought her best fight but the tumour was too aggressive. Tragically, we lost mum on 26th July 2021, just 5 days before her 75th birthday.
Mum spent her last days in St Barnabas House in Worthing. The doctors and nurses showed her genuine love and care throughout her time there. I cannot thank these wonderful people enough. During her last hours, they kept her comfortable while me, my dad and my brother said our personal goodbyes, staying with her until she took her last breath. For this, I will be forever grateful.
On 23rd July 2022, I’m facing my biggest fear and leaping 15,000ft from an airplane. I hope to raise money for St Barnabus House so that people like my beautiful mum can receive the same exceptional end of life care.
Please dig deep if you can. Every penny raised will go to this amazing charity. Thank you for taking the time to read this ❤️
