Story
UPDATE: I dun it!
Yes I got rained on, even just on my way to the starting line meaning I was already damp before the klaxon sounded and I hit the tunnel. Yes, it drizzled pretty much all the way to Chester, where a proper rain set in and drenched us all on the way out of the city after my 15 min pit stop. Yes, the course seemed to meander wildly across the Wirral, almost visiting Heswall each way and taking in Ellesmere Port on the way back! So it was a lot further than I'd imagined... but thinking of all the donations made so far helped me to stay focussed and keep the pace up, especially on the steeper uphill bits. I finally puffed my way out of the Queensway tunnel at 1pm after 4 hours 45 minutes of pedalling.
Thank you so much for all of your donations. Liverpool Sunflowers Cancer Support Centre does so much good work with very little resources, and your money will really make a difference to people living with cancer and their families.
There's still time to donate, so if you were waiting to see if I would actually go through with it - now's the time to dig deep!
Love & thanks,
Louise

PS: UP YOURS, CANCER!

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
In July 2005 I was diagnosed with Hodgkin's Lymphoma. I had six months of chemotherapy and a month of radiotherapy, and am thankfully still in remission five years after diagnosis. To mark this milestone I will be taking part in the Liverpool-Chester Bike Ride 2010, cycling a 54 mile route from Liverpool to Chester and back again, on Sunday 18th July. I am doing this to raise money for Liverpool Sunflowers Cancer Support Centre - and to stick two fingers up to lymphoma, and cancer in general. If you would like to join me in my two finger salute to The Big C, please sponsor me and help to raise money for a charity that helped me through and continues to help and support so many people affected by cancer and their families across Merseyside. Your donation will mean a lot to me and will really help me to stay the course and cycle further than I've ever cycled before! Much further. Much, much further.
Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So please dig deep and donate now.
Thank you!
Louise
