Fundraising for Macmillan Cancer Support
Today, two million people are living with cancer in the UK, and around 300,000 new cases are diagnosed every year. Macmillan wants to reach and improve the lives of everyone living with cancer.
As most of my family and friends know I'm a keen (as in mad) cyclist! Not much get's in the way of me and my bike when it comes to a challenge for charity; I'm proud to be apart of Team Macmillan for the Ride24hr London to Paris on 6/7 September 2014. Over the years I've completed many long-distance rides the classic Lands End to John O'Groats, 'Channel to the Med' the French end-to-end, from south to north of Ireland; several coast-to-coast rides around the UK. I've toured the Pyrenees climbed the famous Col du Tourmalet, even taken on the 'Giant of Provence' Mont Ventoux. This challenge of riding nearly 300 miles within 24 hours would be an incredibly hard ride for someone half my age! Focusing on the fantastic work of Macmillan Cancer Support I am confident of cycling into Paris on 7th September and reaching my fundraising target.
