Story
At the start of this year, Leanne Kidd, a dear colleague at Cellar Trends was diagnosed with non Hodgkin's high grade T cell lymphoma. There are around 40 clinical types and she had the rarest of them all. Only 1 in a million get this type of cancer so there were no case studies to follow like breast cancer etc..
Only in her forties, Leanne was known for her top achievements, loyalty and hard work which she strived to achieve in order to create a secure future and be a strong example to her teenage daughters. Sadly, despite showing so much strength and determination at trying to fight this awful disease Leanne passed away at home in July.
During those months of fighting the Cellar Trends team showed Leanne their support through fundraising for Leanne's chosen charity: Leukaemia & Lymphoma Research. They are the leading UK charity dedicated to improving the lives of patients with all types of blood cancer, including leukaemia, lymphoma and myeloma. They are determined to beat blood cancers, however long it takes, running groundbreaking clinical trials for all blood cancer patients.
The team completed an arduous boot camp in the Spanish heat and a number of them are taking part in Run to the Beat a 10km race in September - the lead charity being Leukaemia and Lymphoma Research.
After completing many marathon Moonwalks over the years Elaine Watts was also keen to help support this charity but did not feel a 10km run was up her street! So she has elected to support the team’s fundraising through a 10km walk from Cannes to Antibes in October.
We appreciate we all get many letters asking for support and donations
for many worthwhile causes, but if you can and are able to support this charity
help stop more people losing their life in their prime, then please donate and have all our thanks for your support. Our efforts really did mean a lot to Leanne as she tried to fight this awful disease.
