Story

The Cambridge Lindy Hopathon 2009!

Yes, the Lindy Hopathon is back for the third year!  We are holding another twelve-hour sponsored dance marathon in aid of the Cystic Fibrosis Trust on Saturday 7th Feb 2009 at the Centre at St Paul's Cambridge.  Sponsored dancing will take plase between midday and midnight, with social dancing  alongside from 7pm.  This year we will be having live music from some of the best Jazz musicians in Cambridge as well as a fantastic selection of swing DJ's.  Sponsored dancers get in free to the whole event, tickets for social dancing are £10/£8 members and concessions.   There will also be the now legendary Blues After Party so you can keep on dancing into the night!  We will be having live music from THREE local Jazz bands from 7pm so grab your dancing shoes for a fantastic day of dancing!

If you'd like to take part as as a sponsored dancer just email me on ros@cambridgelindy.com for a sponsorship form and more info.  Last year was great fun and we raised just over £6000 and so we are hoping this year will be even better and we'll raise even more money!

So far the following marvellous people have signed up to dance the night away-Maria Andersson, Mike Amin, Natalie Annetts, Gemma Barson, Gillian Bates, Alex Beckett, Gerald Bianchi, Holly Bontoft, Alex and Jennie Burnham, Anne Carter, Neil Delaney, Chris Donica, Ros Evans, Sam Flint, Chris Gammie, Alice Grimes, Graham Hazel, Phil Jones, Louise Kihlborg, Dave Kim, Toni Laurila, Natalie and Chris Lloyd, Saranna Lunden, Will Miller, Claire Newham, Eunice Ng, Martin Orr, Chris Osuch, Lizzie Pauling, Holly Race, Bill Robinson, Louise Robson, Kalani Seymour, Will and Tara Sheldrake, Mirjana Skrba, Andrew Smith, Mike Thyer, Katherine Watson and Caroline Williams.

Even if you can't dance there will be a total beginners class at 6pm too, so you can learn to trip the light fantastic with us!  We'll also be holding another taxi dancer slave auction on the night, so you can buy a dancer from a selection of marvelous people including the CLH Committee and troupe, and they'll be all yours to do with as you will for 20mins!  And if this was not enough there will also be a raffle.
