Story

Hello my name is Lewis Munday I have a twin brother called Jack and we are 10. I also have a little sister and brother called Layla and Albie.

My mum louise ponting has started an organization called mundays mission to raise money for an operation that could change my life

Due to brain damage at birth I have spastic Diplegia cerebral Palsy which means I struggle with the stiffness in my legs. I ache alot and get very tired when i walk. I have a kaye walker and some tripod sticks but for longer days i have my wheelchair. I would love to be able to move better and try to walk independently and there is now an operation in the UK that may help me to do this.

It is not currently funded on the NHS so i need to raise 35,000 to pay for the operation and intensive therapy involved afterwards.

The procedure is called Selective Dorsal Rhizotomy and it involves cutting the nerve fibres in the spinal cord linked to the stiff muscles to release the spastcity in my legs PERMANENTLY. I would love to bounce on the trampoline with my brother and play more games as I LOVE sports so anything you could spare to help me get to my target would be amazing. I love football and am in training at yate to get better at wheelchair racing which i love. If we were to go over our amount it would open up alot of new doors for me as i need a new wheelchair that is supportive for when i come home and will help me go to secondary school with more independance.

I'd also love to fund a racing wheelchair to fulfil my all time dream of becoming a para olympic medalist ! I'ts great fun and I love being competitive. There are also new treatments arriving all the time which we could explore.

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page and read all about me :) .

Money from mundays mission gets sent over to tree of hope so that  when the time comes the last thing we have to worry about is paying our invoices for our care.
