Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
My Dad died in 1998 from MND. He was an inspiration throughout my life, a D-Day veteran with an amazing sense of humour despite having his arm amputated and a huge part of his back cut away in an industrial accident when I was 12 years old.
MND has touched my life once again. My neighbour Brian and a near neighbour Jean have both been diagnosed with MND and I intend to do what I can to fund research into this disease.
I'll be running solo and unsupported the 80 mile length of the Great Glen Way in Scotland from September 11th - 15th in memory of my Dad Bill Spiers, and to show my support to Brian and Jean. Every penny raised will go to the MNDA- there are no expenses, costs or deductions. 100% of funds raised go to the charity - period.
Please support me and give as much as you are able to help rid the world of this dreadful disease.
Many thanks - and by way of an update I completed the run on Thursday Sept 15th. It was four days of driving rain and high winds lashing the forest and mountain tracks with only the last day offering blue skies and sunshine. I was exhausted at the end but it was a great adventure with a greater associated cause.
A special word of thanks to all those who supported me along the trail especially my sister Linda, John and Mary and the team at Cruachan Guest House in Drumnadrochit!
sadly Jean died since I completed the runLeslie
